I've spent the last 24 hours in searing paid due to a dental infection. I'm not really religious anymore, but this movie helped lift my spirits.

I went to Lourdes in 2007 with my grandmother, aunty , cousin and mother. Watching this in memory of my grandmother who passed 2013 & my aunt who passed only 20 weeks ago this January 2024.

I Loved this movie The Song of Bernadette. It tells us so much of our Heavenly Father and how we should all know and Love our Heavenly Father of Jesus and God. I loved it and it is now a favorite for me. Thank you and the stars and all who helped make this Godly movie. 19:44

Why they taught people the very opposite of what Jesus taught. I do not understand why except that it was to keep the people ignorant of this and in chains of oppression. Christ told us all that He came to give life and give it more abundantly! He died on the cross and suffered for our sins so that our sins would be paid in full. HE is our redeemer! There is no score card that God keeps except for those that refuse Christs Free gift of grace and love that we might be saved by HIS suffering, death and RESURRECTION! . NOT ours.

If Mary had shown herself to everyone in the crowd instead of just one person then the proof would have been far greater. Instead we're all still in the dark, clutching at straws. Pity

I first saw this film age 7 on a small flickering black and white TV. Without having the slightest idea why, I was blown away by it🕊

Favourite movie of all time, so many lessons to learn, how bernadette suffered but now a saint and in the end she's in heaven " pray for us Saint Bernadette" you beautiful kind soul and heart.. We look up to thee and this movie is a constant reminder of all you endured.

Aside from the beauty of the film overall, I just wanted to comment on how incredible the acting is. Jennifer Jones in her first film is completely believable, and her skills in convincing performances continue in films like Madame Bovary; Charles Bickford gives a wonderfully manly performance as the Abbé; Roman Bohnen is incredible as Bernadette's father, an hugely underrated actor who died too soon; Vincent Price as the slimy bureaucrat, Gladys Cooper as the jealous nun; and Lee J. Cobb, the same actor who played the belligerent and emotionally damaged juror in 12 Angry Men, here plays the patient, educated, and gentlemanly French doctor taking the neutral stance in Bernadette's case.

They chose Jennifer Jones to play this part from all the other actresses that tried out for this film Jennifer Jones was the only one who recognized a faint picture they showed her of the Blessed Virgin Mary !That was like a miracle in itself ! It was meant to be that she play that part !Also the nun that hated her then beg for forgiveness after she found out how she suffered she still had hatred for her! I hope that Jennifer Jones has met St Bernadette in Heaven so she can tell her how pleased she was that she played the story of her life! We all love you Jennifer Jones One of the best actresses that ever hit the silver screen ! Rest in Peace!

Vincent was a family friend (more my father's). I miss him so. Hard to believe it's been 30 years since he's gone 😢❤❤

watta wonderful story

i watched this as a kid, and several times since.. its remarkable how GOOD a movie can be,, without a single drop of CGI, explosions, jumping out of planes, cars leaping into canyons, or 150 people being blown up.. just a story,, acting, and excellent cinematography...
